Upper Valley Strong

Upper Valley Strong was formed in 2011 to coordinate the community long term recovery effort after the flooding caused by Tropical Storm Irene. Upper Valley Strong is a collaboration of over 50 non-profit agencies, churches, schools, towns, and community groups. The Coalition's role in Upper Valley Strong includes coordinating case managers, construction coordinators, and volunteer coordinators from Upper Valley Strong organizations; developing a budget and seeking grant funding to support the work; administering the work in coordination with state and regional agencies in Vermont, as well as FEMA; creating and maintaining the website; developing and distributing outreach materials; and coordinating volunteers for outreach and fundraising events. We also work with funders such as the Vermont Disaster Relief Fund and the Rotary to obtain grants for individuals impacted by Irene.
